Newcastle Eagles pre-match report

Last meeting
This will be the decider in our head to head as we are 1-1 going into tomorrow’s game against Newcastle Eagles. The first meeting was fairly one sided as Newcastle won 67-87 in front of a large Wolves home crowd. Wolves got their own back when they travelled to Newcastle and won 103-112, which triggered our recent run.
With the Wolves on fire and Newcastle still in with a chance of winning the league this one could go either way.

Table position
Newcastle Eagles are 2nd in the league having lost only 6 games this season, whilst Wolves moved up to 5th last week.

One to watch
After 26 games, Eagles point guard Rahmon Fletcher is currently the leading average point scorer in the league at 20.2, having recently overtaken Wolves Mo Walker. Fletcher is having a great season and has already scored over 500 points this season, which is the first season in his career that he has passed the half-century mark.
Fletcher isn’t the only player to watch out for, as the Newcastle Eagles team have the highest scoring average in the league (93.36) with Wolves in 4th (87.41). However, stopping Fletcher will go a long way to getting the win.

Player opinion
When asking Trey Zeigler about the game he said:
“They are a good team. I haven’t played against them yet, but from watching film their guards carry a lot of the load offensively. They aren’t a very big team so hopefully we can be physical and rebound the ball well against them.”
