Leeds force prematch report
Last meeting
The Wolves have played Force only once so far this season. We were away at the Carnegie Sports Centre and managed to get a 77-91 win after a number of tough losses. A Successful performance from Mo Walker (17 points and 10 rebounds) and ex-force player Marek Klassen (18 points) led the Wolves to an important victory that night.
Table position
Leeds Force sit in 10th position in comparison to Wolves in 7th. However, this doesn’t mean that it will be an easy game, as they will be on a high after turning London Lions over last week.
Key match up
Keeping Force’s Power forward Jermaine Sanders quiet is going to be big task for the Wolves defence. 24-year-old Jermaine is making his debut in professional basketball after his 4 seasons in NCAA. Jermaine is top scorer at force, averaging 18.65 points per game, collecting almost 5.5 rebounds and making over 3 assists.
Jermaine Sanders will match up with Jermel Kennedy who has played 24 games and has started in every one. Jermel is a more experienced player and averages over 13 points per game and grabs almost 7 rebounds. The matchup between this pair is definitely one to watch.
Familiar faces
Worcester Wolves fans may remember Disraeli Lufadeju very well. Disraeli spent 3 years with Wolves and was part of the BBL League and Trophy winning team in 2013-2014 season. This season he is averaging just 4.2 points per game.
What the players think
We asked Jermel Kennedy to share his thoughts on playing Leeds Force tomorrow:
“Leeds is a great team and they play a very physical game. Their coach will not allow them to give up at any point during the game and his charismatic behaviour rubs off on the whole team – so you better be prepared to play through the whole game. Jack Isenbarger wasn’t there the first game against them. This guy can heat up from behind the arc at any moment, so we have to do a great job on him or it’ll be a long night for us”
