Wolves Looking to Bounce Back Against Surrey
Worcester Wolves Coach Paul James admits that his team has suffered a frustrating time since their defeat against Manchester Giants earlier this month, but says that they are determined to put that disappointment behind them when they host Surrey United on Friday evening.
After winning their opening two games of the BBL season, Wolves went down 93-83 against the Giants last Friday.
The twelve days between that game and Friday’s University Arena clash with United have given them plenty of time to analyse what went wrong in Manchester, James says.
“It’s frustrating that we didn’t have a game this past week,” he told the BBL. “We sat down and watched the whole Manchester game again and pointed fingers where they needed to be pointed.
“Hopefully we’ve come through that better as a team and we’ve done a lot of work in that area this past week.”
Despite their struggles last season, James believes that the revamped United team will provide ‘dangerous’ opposition on Friday.
“If you look at the players they’ve brought in, they’ve got a core of six guys who are capable of playing major minutes and scoring double figures in points,” he added.
“I think they are a very dangerous team, with guys who score points in a hurry like Trevor Setty, Kramer Knutson and Lavione West.
“For us, we have to beat them as a team, we can’t just concentrate on any one player.
“We have to concentrate on what we’re doing defensively and make sure that our rotations are good, we’re strong on the ball, and in the rebounding department.”
