There’s another key BBL Championship game at the Emirates Arena on Easter Sunday as Glasgow Rocks host Worcester Wolves (tip off 5pm).

Both teams were in action on Tuesday evening, with Rocks suffering a narrow loss at Sheffield Sharks while Wolves lost 102-87 at home against Newcastle Eagles. Those results left Rocks fifth in the table with an 18-11 record while Wolves lie one spot behind with 17 wins from 29 games.

The head-to-head decider between the clubs is also on the line on Sunday, with home court advantage having proved crucial in the two meetings this season. Rocks edged a tight game 85-79 when the sides met in Glasgow in November, before Wolves gained revenge six weeks later with an 83-70 success.

Rocks’ player-coach Sterling Davis is expecting a tough battle: “The Wolves probably have the biggest team in the league which means mismatches are strife. They are very dangerous in their style of play and if they are clicking, they can be extremely hard to beat.”

Davis doesn’t believe that it’s wise to single out any individual Wolves’ player: “With the experience they have its very hard to give one person that lead role. I feel they all do their roles for that particular night which changes all the time. We have to be ready to battle in the paint with these guys. Because they are so big, we have to make ourselves that much bigger by how we play.”

Wolves’ coach Paul James rates the Scottish side highly: “The Rocks are a good well-balanced team. They play hard every time they step on the court. EJ Harrison and Sterling Davis are the leaders on the court, but they have some talented players around them.

“When we last played them, I thought we executed our game plan well offensively and defensively, and worked really hard for each other.”
