The Worcester Wolves await the arrival of Deshawn Freeman to further strengthen their roster for the 2018/19 British Basketball Season.

The 6 ft 7 forward comes to the Wolves after starting a season at Israel National League side Maccabi Kiryat Motzkin.

He graduated from Rutgers University last season where he was captain of their Scarlett Knights Basketball team. In his senior campaign, Freeman averaged 11.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals.

Head Coach Ty Shaw is looking forward to having Freeman on the team and said “Deshawn joins us after competing at a very high level conference in the NCAA Division 1. He was a team captain while at Rutgers and brings a dynamic to our team that fans should really enjoy!”

“We are very excited to welcome him to the Wolfpack and look forward to seeing his energy on court!”

Managing Director Mick Donovan added “we are really excited at the prospect of Deshawn joining the Wolves and feel sure that he will be a huge favourite with the fans.”

He has enjoyed a really good college career and we believe that he will make a significant impact in the BBL.”

Due to disruptions in the visa process with Quadir Welton, Freeman will now be joining the Wolves roster and hopes to arrive in the coming weeks.

The Worcester Wolves are looking for another home win as they take Manchester Giants on Friday 19 October from 7.30pm at the University of Worcester Arena. Tickets are available here.
