Worcester Wolves are pleased to announce the signing of American point guard George Marshall as they enter a crucial stage in their season.

Born in Chicago, Marshall attended South Dakota State University where in his first season in the team he led the team to the sweet 16 and won the Summit Conference in both seasons.

In just his first season, he was included in the All-Newcomers 1st Team, All-Summit 2nd league and was named MVP of the World Vision Classic. During his senior season he was then included in the All-Summit league 1st team and received the NABC All-District 1st team honours.

Marshall has been recognised as one of the best prospects coming out of the Chicago area and was a 2010 honourable mention All-City and All-Area from the Chicago Sun-Times.

He started his professional career at Aris Leuuwarden in the Dutch Basketball League where he played 26 games, averaging 13.8 points and 3.6 assists.
Marshall started this season at Bosnian side HKK Široki but left during ABA Liga Qualifications due to a sprained ankle injury, which he was cleared of in January.

Head Coach Paul James said “We are looking at George coming in to have an instant impact on the team, especially in our transition game.”

Managing Director, Mick Donovan added, “We are entering a critical stage of the season and still have aspirations to do well on the court.”

“We believe that George will bring an exciting dimension to our team and will receive a warm welcome from the Wolfpack.”

The Worcester Wolves play at the University of Worcester Arena this Friday against Sheffield Sharks for the first time in the league this season.

The University of Worcester owned side will be dedicating the game to raising funds for the SmileForJoel Charity. Donations can be made at the game or through the SmileForJoel JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/WorcWolves.
