Plymouth Raiders pre-match report

Last meeting:

In our last meeting, Plymouth Raiders knocked us out of the BBL Trophy. We won the 2^nd leg at home 90-83, but we were unable to come back from an 18 point deficit after losing 96-78 in the 1^st leg. In fact, we haven’t had much luck against Raiders at all so far this season, as we have already lost the head-to-head going into this game. They seem to be one of our bogey teams this season, but with the team in their current form, it could all change at tomorrow’s game.

Table position:

Plymouth have slipped down the table lately as they went through a bit of a rough patch that ran from the end of February through to March. This means that they now sit in 7^th  and are technically yet to qualify for the playoffs.  Wolves remain in 5^th but their 10 game unbeaten run leaves them with the same number of wins as 3^rd and 4^th and 2 wins clear 6^th place Lions.

One to watch:

Plymouth’s roster in general is pretty strong and there are a few players that the Wolves will need to look out for. However, Daryl Corletto has punished the Wolves with his 3-point shooting in our last few meetings.

Corletto’s 3-point average has recently slipped to 2^nd in the league after Leeds Force’s Jack Isenbarger’s recent resurgence. However, he is still 10^th highest scorer with 16.9 points per game and has the highest free throw percentage and 3^rd highest field goal percentage.

The Wolves will need to make sure they push him out of his comfort zone behind that 3-point line.

We asked Captain Marek Klassen about meeting Plymouth Raiders tomorrow. Here is what he had to say:

“It is another tough road trip, but we have all kinds of confidence right now. We have a chip on our shoulder all the way from the players to the coaching staff, so we need to go in there with the with that same mentality. We are currently the team to beat and we are just focusing on ourselves and what we need to do this week to prepare.”
