Gtech renews sponsorship with Worcester Wolves

Worcester Wolves is delighted to announce that Gtech is renewing its sponsorship as one of the lead sponsors for the 2016/17 season.

The sponsorship deal was marked with a cheque presentation of £30,000 to Worcester Wolves Managing Director, Mick Donovan by Gtech’s CEO, Nick Grey at the company’s new Warndon HQ.

Last season the Wolves finished in fourth place in the British Basketball League. There has been a revolution in terms of team building over the past summer with a complete overhaul of the team that has seen the arrivals of players from the United States, Canada and Spain to join some very promising British players.

Worcester Wolves Managing Director, Mick Donovan said: “In the past three years since moving to the University of Worcester Arena, we have experienced a very exciting transition with a huge increase in support at home games, together with some impressive performances on the court. We are excited about the new group of players that we have assembled and hope to continue the relationship we have developed with a prestigious company like Gtech – which is having a huge impact in so many ways.”

He added: “The combination of such a progressive and dynamic company with a forward thinking professional Basketball club is a really exciting prospect for British Basketball and the support from Gtech will enable us to continue to make significant progress in key areas. We have been thrilled to be working with some of their vibrant commercial and marketing staff and all of our discussions so far with them have centred on genuine partnerships and moving forward together. We genuinely believe that this offers a great opportunity for the Wolves.”

Gtech has continued to grow successfully and now employs 140 staff at their new headquarters in Warndon. The company has just launched its new cordless AirRam Mk 2 vacuum cleaner and has sold more than a million cordless vacuum cleaners since the launch of the original AirRam, which scooped a prestigious Queen’s Award for Innovation.

Gtech CEO and Founder, Nick Grey says: “I love sponsoring the Wolves and can’t wait for the new season to start. I take our kids to most home games and the atmosphere in the arena is fantastic. For anyone who hasn’t been down there, give it a try. You can turn up on the night, parking is easy and it’s a chance to see a Worcester team compete at the highest level nationally. The skill and speed of the players is breath-taking.”
