Basketball Fever hits Worcester……

The Worcester Wolves have been experiencing a huge increase in spectators for their games at their new home in the University of Worcester Arena.  The first game against Leicester saw Arena staff putting out additional seating and there have been near capacity crowds for the games against Cheshire and Manchester.

The club are urging supporters to secure their seats in advance for the game against Plymouth Raiders on Friday 1st November by buying online in order to avoid disappointment and missing British Eurosport’s first featured game. Top-level British Basketball adds to British Eurosport’s existing portfolio, which includes an extensive tranche of Olympic Sports rights. Chairman Roger Clarke “We are delighted that we have been selected to host the first featured game no British Eurosport.  We really hope that this sort of exposure will promote both the club, the Arena and the City as an exciting sporting hotbed.  The Worcester public have been brilliant so far and have made a real difference to the coach and the team.  We were always worried that we may struggle to create a ‘Wolves den’ with lots of atmosphere, but all fears have been dispelled.”

The Wolves have been  inundated with positive emails praising the match night experience, that include the players entering the court with Wolves masks, the light show, the cheerleaders , Wolfie the life size dancing mascot and opportunities for local acts to appear in half time and breaks in play.  It is also significant that the Wolves sit at the top of the British Basketball league table and are playing an impressive and exciting brand of basketball.

Clarke continued “It was always our aim to bring first class basketball to Worcester and whilst the current team and facilities are excellent, the most exciting thing has been the response from the Worcester public as they embrace their Worcester Wolves”.

Tickets can be purchased for £13 for adults and £7 concessions and online ticket information can be found on the Worcester Wolves website:
