The Worcester Wolves Announce New Basketball Initiative

Worcester Wolves have secured funding through the Sportivate fund in partnership with Worcester City Council and Herefordshire & Worcestershire Sports Partnership, allowing the club to put on two 6-week blocks of basketball sessions.

The programme is predominantly for male and females aged 14-24, but anyone over this age is very welcome to come along and join in.  The cost is £5.00 for a two-hour session starting Wednesday 3 July, from 7-9 pm, at the University of Worcester Sports Centre, St Johns Campus.

The sessions will be run by the Worcester Wolves’ Director of Basketball & Head Coach Paul James, along with other Worcester Wolves’ coaches.  Coach James had this to say: “We are delighted to be able to add this new and exciting initiative to our basketball programme. I would like to encourage as many people as possible from the community to come down and give it a go! If you just want to learn or have played a little before, this is the ideal session for you. Our ultimate aim after these blocks of sessions is to form a Worcester Wolves Community team that will eventually play in a local league, but for now just to play socially and have a lot of fun whilst getting some exercise!”
