Worcester Wolves Appoint Ally Hope As New Head Coach Of The BWB WPL Team

The Worcester Wolves are delighted to announce the appointment of Ally Hope as Head Coach of the club’s British Wheelchair Basketball Women’s Premier League team ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Hope joins the Wolves at an exciting time for the programme, following a successful 2025-26 campaign which saw the team produce its highest-ever Women’s Premier League finish and reach the Play-Off Final. As the Wolves look to build on that progress, Hope will lead the next chapter of the team’s development, bringing his experience, leadership and ambition to the programme.

His appointment represents another important step in the continued development of wheelchair basketball at Worcester, as the Wolves look to strengthen their position within the Women’s Premier League and continue progressing at the highest level of the domestic game.

Hope brings a wealth of experience having been head coach at CWBA where he was previously awarded Coach of The Year and also been part of the British Wheelchair Basketball coaching team.

Hope is excited to get on court to start work with this season’s roster; “After being involved behind the scenes at Wolves, I’m very excited to get the opportunity to work with these athletes on the court and see what we can do. After taking a year away from coaching, I’m feeling refreshed and eager, and cannot wait for our first training camp with a very exciting and talented roster.”

Worcester Wolves Managing Director April White expressed her delight at welcoming Hope to the club’s coaching staff, highlighting his experience and understanding of wheelchair basketball as important assets for the programme moving forward.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Ally as Head Coach of our Women’s Premier League team. He brings a wealth of experience, a strong understanding of wheelchair basketball and, importantly, a real appreciation of the standards and ambitions we have for the programme here at Worcester.

Last season was a significant step forward for the team, both in the league and in reaching the Play-Off Final, and we are really proud of the foundations that have been built. Ally’s appointment gives us an exciting opportunity to build on that momentum, continue developing this talented group of athletes and continue progressing at the highest level of the domestic game.”

The Wolves’ Women’s Premier League side will begin their 2026-27 league campaign at home against defending champions East London Phoenix – the same opposition they faced in last season’s Play-Off Final.
