Lucas Warburton Looks Ahead To The Final Game Of The Season As Wolves Prepare For The Play Offs

Worcester Wolves Women’s Premier League team play their final home fixture of the 2023-2024 season this month. The team will be hoping to be roared on by a packed-out arena as a victory over Cardiff Met Archers will mean that the Wolves will secure a third-place spot going into the playoffs.
Looking forward to the final game of the season on April the 27th, Head Coach Lucas Warburton said; “For this final stretch of the season we’ve got to make sure we are pulling together as a team and focus on this final game of the regular season. We need to make sure we are firing on all cylinders, on both ends of the floor.”
The Wolves will be looking to emulate the performance against Cardiff in January as Warburtons side took the win 58-47. Talking about the challenge Cardiff will pose, Warburton explained “We have currently split the season series with Cardiff 1-1, so by winning the final game of the season it would put us in a really confident position psychologically knowing we’ve won the season series with them, and that confidence can really propel us into the Play Offs.”
Heading into a period of consecutive games against Cardiff with crossovers meaning that Wolves will play Met Archers in the Play Offs. Warburton said “We will be playing Cardiff, and no matter how the final game of the season goes, both teams will be focussing on getting that win and securing third place. That means we know the playoff game will be the toughest game against Cardiff that we’ve had this season, and we need to make sure we are fully prepared for it.”
Be sure to be at the University of Worcester Arena on Saturday April 27th when the Worcester Wolves cap off the regular season against the visiting Cardiff Met Archers. Tickets are available here.
