For the final game of the season the Wolves were looking to give the home fans an impressive performance to wrap the season up and give themselves some momentum to carry on into next season. However unfortunately despite a valiant effort from the Wolves it wasn’t enough for victory as the game ended 56-82.

The first quarter was very hectic with both teams managing to score for fun. Kestrels were the team to open the scoring 10 seconds into the fixture and as the quarter went on the Wolves got themselves back into the fixture and got themselves a 5-point lead as the quarter came to a close. However, a last minute comeback from Team Solent meant that as the quarter ended the game was all tied up at 21-21.

Throughout the second quarter the game changed in favour of Team Solent as they started to take control of the game and as a result it stopped the Wolves taking a lead like they did in the first quarter. As the game approached its halfway stage the Wolves did manage to come back into the game however as the quarter ended the Wolves ended the quarter 11 points behind (32-43).

In the third quarter Team Solent continued in the same fashion as they ended the second quarter as they started to become even more clinical it became a very difficult game for the Wolves to get back into. Despite the scoreline the Wolves were putting on a good show however they just lacked the clinical edge in comparison to Team Solent and as a result of that the quarter ended 43-66.

For the final quarter the speed of the match started to slow down which suited the Wolves more and as a result as the quarter came to an end the Wolves started to close the gap which Team Solent had created over the last 2 quarters however it wasn’t enough for them to grab the maximum points from the game with the score ending 56-82.

Top scorer for the Wolves was Carolina Marques scoring an impressive 18 points for the Wolves which was almost a third of the total points scored today.
