After a disappointing result last week, the Wolves faced a difficult task with Brent Bulls who were currently unbeaten in the league. Despite a much more energetic performance from the Wolves they did unfortunately come away empty handed.

In the first quarter the game was very back and forth with the Wolves making the most of this as they had a 7-6 lead early on. As the quarter went on the Bulls started to showcase why they were unbeaten with some deadly moves seeing them ending the quarter on top with a 6 point lead (15-21).

The game carried on in the same manner as the Wolves looked the more energetic team with the help of the fans getting behind the team, however it just wasn’t quite enough as once again the Bulls being very clinical saw them open their 6 point lead up to 9 points (29-37). Despite the score line the Wolves were very much in the game and ready to capitalize upon any mistake by the Bulls.

Once again in the third quarter the Bulls had a clear problem with gaining points at the start of a quarter with the Wolves once again trying to take advantage of this and hopefully use that momentum to stick with the Bulls throughout. However, once again the Bulls managed to extend their advantage over the Wolves opening their lead to 43-55.

As the final quarter got underway the Wolves came out of the blocks flying as they managed to close the gap right down to Bulls which certainly seemed to wake them up as only a few minutes later the Bulls scored two wonderful 3 pointers back-to-back which seemed to kill off any sort of real comeback which the Wolves had of taking away the Bulls unbeaten streak today as the game ended 61-74.

The Wolves will have to continue waiting for the first home win of the season, however there were a lot of positives to take from the game. Carolina Marques was certainly player of the match for the Wolves today with a massive 34 points scored from herself.

Next Saturday will see Worcester Wolves travel to Ipswich to play Ipswich Basketball with tip off at 3:30pm. The Worcester Wolves then return the the University of Worcester Arena on Saturday November 5th when the host Anglia Ruskin University. Tip Off 4pm.
