Stans the Man again for Wolves

Worcester Wolves’ power forward Stan Ocitti has received the honour of being named in the starting five of the latest BBL Team of the Week. His second appearance amongst the league’s best comes after an impressive display in Wolves’ 88-75 victory over Manchester Giants at the weekend.

Ocitti registered a double-double of 20 points and ten rebounds in last Friday’s contest, combining well with Wolves’ centre Arturas Masiulis to prevent Giants’ Great Britain pairing of Mike Bernard and Nick George from making any impact around the basket..

Wolves Director of Basketball Paul James is delighted that Ocitti’s latest efforts have been recognised, commenting: “It’s great for Stan. Now I think about it, I’m surprised that this is only the second time he’s made the starting five. A lot of his work can go unnoticed. He battles hard under the hoop, sets screens for his team-mates and can even punish opponents with a three-pointer if they don’t respect him.”

With the Wolves travelling up to Newcastle Eagles this Friday in the quarter-finals of the BBL Trophy, the next chance for home supporters to see Ocitti and his colleagues will be the following week. A double-header of games will take place at the University of Worcester, with Mersey Tigers the visitors on Friday 15 February (tip off 7.30pm) and London Lions making the trip on Saturday 16 February (tip off 7.00pm).

Worcester Wolves’ Marketing Officer Clare Jenkins is pleased to announce a special deal for fans to watch the action, saying: “It’s very unusual to be playing home games on consecutive nights. Because of this, we have made the decision to offer a special discount price of £15 to see both matches, instead of the usual entry of £13 for a single game. Children’s prices are also reduced to £10 for the two games.”
