Wolves Preparing for Archers And Women’s Premier League Play Offs
By George Chapman
Ellan Fraser talks about what the team need to focus on in the build up to the final game of the regular season against Cardiff Met Archers.
It’s been a difficult season for the Wolves Women’s Premier League team, having only won a single game all season against Cardiff Met Archers away from home. Despite that stat, the Wolves have shown great togetherness to stick to the game plan and never give up.
In a league that has a lot of international experience in teams such as Loughborough Lightning, who are in pole position and heading to retain their WPL tittle for a third consecutive season since the inception of the WPL three years ago. Only losing one game in three years against Cardiff Met Archers.
After last Friday night’s 26-76 loss to top of the table Loughborough Lightning, the Wolves are routed to the bottom of the WPL table heading into the final game of the regular season against Cardiff Met Archers at the University of Worcester Arena.
Lucas Warburtons’ side will no doubt be aware of the threat the Archers will pose with Great Britain international Jade Atkin, who will be a threat from inside the key and from the mid-range.
Talking about what the group need to focus on in training going forward towards the Met Archers game, Ellan Fraser said “We’re working on our defence and our communicating. Our tactics for playing Cardiff will be different to playing Loughborough so we’ll refocus on that too. A win against Cardiff would help boost momentum and confidence going into the Play Offs.”
Lucas Warburtons’ side are next in action on Saturday April the 27th tipping of at 2pm for the final time this season at the University of Worcester Arena. Tickets are available here.
