After the winter break it was an important game for the Wolves to gather momentum to try and make a late charge for the playoff positions and after winning by their biggest margin of the season the Wolves certainly showed off what they are capable of with a stunning display.

The game started with the Wolves getting the first point of the match and then through a mixture of solid and strong defending as well as some clinical attacks gave the Wolves a strong lead halfway through the first quarter. As the quarter went on, the game plan continued throughout and because of this the Wolves ended the quarter with a massive 18-point lead (25-7).

The second quarter started off very slowly with neither team managing to score many points. However, despite the Archers trying to close down the gap which the Wolves had created in the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately for the Archers, a frantic spree of swift, lethal counters from the Wolves allowed them to grow their lead even further to an outstanding 26 points at the halfway stage (42-16).

As the game went into the third quarter the Wolves continued in the same fashion as how they ended the previous quarter with lightning counter plays which the Archers were completely unable to deal with. And because of this going into the final quarter the Wolves were in an almost untouchable position leading the game 69-25.

Throughout the final quarter the game became all about ensuring that the lead which the Wolves had managed to get from the previous 3 quarters was kept intact as well as making sure no one in the team sustained an injury. They managed this perfectly as the game ended 82-35 to Worcester.

Overall, every single player in the game for the Wolves deserved player of the match as everyone was on their best form which allowed Worcester to finish the game with their biggest winning margin of the season. Sandra Hewakowska and Charlotte Finn both racked up double doubles with 17/11 and 11/13 points and rebounds respectively. Diedre Edwards also had an impressive debut for the Wolves with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.

Worcester are back in action next Sunday when they face Reading Rockets away from home at 1:30pm.
