Worcester Wolves travelled to Cardiff to face off with the Met Archers for their second Wheelchair Basketball Premier League match on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams entered the match chasing their first victory. For the Met Archers, the game was the first in front of their home crowd.

In front of their fans, the Met Archers took control of the game from the tip-off and ran away in the scoring. In the first quarter, Wolves did manage to give them a fight for their money but in the second quarter, Cardiff was just too strong.

Trailing 15-31 Worcester, returned to the field looking very strong. They played their best basketball defending well while capitalising on their own chances. In the last quarter, the Met Archers gained their momentum back, holding Wolves off the scoresheet for almost five minutes.

The home team took the quarter 14-6 and took home the victory by a comfortable 55-29 score.

Cardiff’s Jade Atkin was in a class of her own today scoring an amazing 29 points. The Met Archers would’ve tied the game with just Atkin’s points today that’s how dominant she was.

Jade Loughlin was Worcester’s best scorer today with six points.

The two teams were tied on turnovers (15) today but the big difference was that Cardiff scored 20 points from them while Worcester only managed to score two.

The Met Archers also capitalised on their field goals, scoring 42% of their attempts. Wolves managed only 23% today.

For Worcester, next up is a road trip to London, where they will face the Phoenix, on Saturday.
