The Worcester Wolves continue with their preparations for the new British Basketball with the signing of Josh McSwiggan.

From Loughborough England, McSwiggan represented the Portland Pilots of the NCAA Division I West Coast Conference for two seasons.

At the conclusion of his senior year, the 6ft 7 forward averaged 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists from 32 games played, including 25 starts.

McSwiggan showed his potential and talent prior to his college career, earning international status with Great Britain at U18 and U20 levels in Euro Division A. His versatility, ability to adapt and guard multiple positions will compliment the Wolves front court well.

Head Coach Matt Newby is excited to see what McSwiggan can bring to the Wolves in the BBL.

“In signing Josh, we have added a player who I feel will strengthen our perimeter even further and also provide some relief in the forward line at times.

He has the ability to stretch the floor and create some interesting matchup problems for the opposition. He is athletic and shoots the ball with consistency and will contribute across several statistical areas including the glass.

His selfless play will fit the mould of this program and the squad we are putting together.”

McSwiggan is excited for the opportunity to play professional basketball in England with the Wolves.

“I am extremely excited to be a part of the Wolves this season! I believe coach Newby’s style of play will bring out the most of my skill set so that I can contribute to the team on both ends of the floor.

The Wolfpack is a great fan base and I’m excited to be a part of the family!”
