The Worcester Wolves have filled their final Euro player spot with Julius Van Sauers.

The 6ft 8 versatile forward becomes Coach Newby’s latest signing of the new season and the franchises second signing from the Netherlands.

During 2018-19 with NCAA side Long Island Brooklyn Blackbirds, Julius averaged 4.75 points, 4.56 rebounds and 1.31 assists.

Head Coach Matt Newby is excited to work with Julius this season.

“I am really happy to have signed Julius Van Sauers, he came up on the radar late whilst we were looking for our final EU roster spot and I think he fits in to our roster well.

For me it was important to add strength to the forward line and with Julius we have added more versatility. He has the ability to play on the perimeter and interior as a position 4 and is well skilled.

He also has the ability to defend multiple positions which complements our defensive scheme.  He has international experience through the Dutch national teams’ system as a youth and a high order basketball IQ I look forward to working with him this season.

Julius is excited to start the new season with the Worcester Wolves and get to work with his new team mates.

“Worcester is an ambitious basketball club establishing a winner culture.

I want to be a part of that and I cannot wait to play in front of the Wolf Pack.”
