Kofi Josephs Signs with the Worcester Wolves.
The Worcester Wolves are delighted to have acquired the services of Kofi Josephs for the 2019/20 BBL Season.
The Birmingham born GB and England international joins the Wolves after playing for Nassjo in the Swedish 1st league and Breidablik in the Iceland 1st league where he averaged 21.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in 2018/19.
Kofi represented England at the Commonwealth Games in Australia in 2018 and has previously played in the BBL with the Glasgow Rocks.
“My aspirations for this season are to try and help Worcester get back to where they were all those previous seasons before.”
Kofi added, “I’m here to help any way I can to help the wolves return to a winning program. I’m really excited to join the team, it’s going to be a completely different look to last year which is exciting as anything can happen, I’m excited to get going.
The leagues very competitive now so it’s fun going to war every night. I’ve known for a while how great the fan base is at Worcester, after playing against Worcester a number of times and being on the opposing team it’ll be great to have the Wolf Pack behind me this time, the support will be great.”
Head Coach Matt Newby is pleased with his first signing.
“I am excited about the arrival of Kofi, it’s important that we have high calibre domestic players within our core and I feel Kofi has the ability to impact the game at both ends of the floor, he brings versatility to our perimeter with a consistency from range and the ability to create his own advantage.
He has an appetite to improve and a strong work ethic which couples well, his attitude and aptitude are what I expect from a player of his calibre, I look forward to working with him and seeing him embrace his roles and responsibilities on the floor and in within our broader community.
As a young man from the midlands who has used basketball as a vehicle to change his life, he will make a great role model for the young people in our region.”
