The Worcester Wolves Women are thrilled to announce the signing of Maia Bratka for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

The 6’1 forward spent six years with the Leicester Riders organisation, representing the WBBL team for four of those years. In addition to her playing commitments, Maia was also studying at Loughborough University while playing for their BUCS premier team and helped them to win three BUCS national championships.

Since leaving Loughborough, Maia has spent time in Estonia with Keila Korvallikool before making the decision to move to Worcester. Alongside her playing commitments Maia will also be studying a Masters in International Management at the University of Worcester.

On coming to the University of Worcester Maia said,  “I am super excited to join the Worcester family and start my journey there. I am really looking forward to meeting everybody and I am excited to see what Worcester has in store for me.”

Head Coach Ryan Emery added, “we are delighted to be able to bring in a player of Maia’s ability and experience to this group. She will be able to help us and we will be able to help Maia on her basketball journey. We are improving as a team, every week and Maia is going to help our team both on the court and off the court, as she has accomplished what we are trying to achieve in Leicester. Maia’s experience will be invaluable to our team and I am looking forward to welcoming her to Worcester.”

Maia will make her debut for Worcester Wolves Women this Saturday at the University of Worcester St John’s Sports Centre as they take on Myerscough College from 4pm – admission is free.
