Worcester Wolves lean on experience of Spanish Guard
At just 26, Miki Servera has built up an impressive Basketball CV in the Spanish leagues.
As a Mallorquin, Miki’s career began at Basquet Mallorca in the LEB Gold at just 16 before finding himself at Unicaja Malaga towards the end of the following season, representing the club in a Euroleague game. During this time, he also played in the hugely successful U16 to U20 Spanish National teams.
Since then the 6ft 5 inch guard has moved around LEB Gold and Liga ACB sides including UCAM Murcia and Tecnyconta Zaragoza and spent last season at LEB Gold side Melilla Baloncesto.
Servera said “I am so excited to be part of the Worcester Wolves. I cannot wait to start working with the team and to show my Basketball ability in England. I’m sure it’s going to be a good season and that we can achieve great things.”
Managing Director, Mick Donovan commented, “We have heard great things about Miki and interestingly, he was a teammate of our former captain, Alex Navajas.”
“When we spoke to Alex about Miki, he gave us extremely positive feedback about him as a player and a person and he believes that he will be a huge success in the league and as a part of the Worcester Basketball community”
The University of Worcester Visting Basketball Academic, Dr Alejandro Vaquera confirmed, “Miki is a very effective and versatile player who can play the 1, 2 and 3 positions.”
“He is a really smart player who can make his teammates better by the way hecontributes to the team. Offensively, he has the ability to shoot from long range and penetrate the defence, whilst also being very strong defensively”
