Robert Crawford becomes one of the first Forwards to join the Worcester Wolves line up.

Crawford comes to the Wolves after a season at Rasta Vechta’s Regionalliga team, where he was selected in the Eurobasket All-Regionalliga first team. When the Regionalliga season ended, he was offered to join the Pro A team for their playoff campaign where they won the Championship and have now been promoted to the Bundesliga.

During his time at Rasta Vechta he averaged 18.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4 assists and 2.1 steals per game. At 6 ft 7, the combination of Crawford’s 7ft wingspan, strength, quickness and athleticism should make him one to watch in the BBL this season.

His career began in the NCAA Division 1 team at Central Arkansas where he recorded an average of 10.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in his senior year.

When asking Crawford about coming to the Worcester Wolves he said: “I’m very excited about joining the Wolves Organization. I’ve heard nothing but fantastic things about the club.”

“I’ve seen videos of how much support the city brings to the club and I’m honoured to be a part of that. I can’t wait to get to town and start putting in work”

Crawford’s agent and ex-Wolves player Stan Ocitti said, “As a former Worcester Wolves player and student at the University, it has been an honour to play a small role in getting Robert signed to the Wolves family.”

“I think that the fans will appreciate his hard work ethic and warm character. Robert and I are extremely excited to have him be a part of a new chapter in Wolves history. The energy that he brings to a team is contagious and that is what makes him a fan favourite.”

Managing Director Mick Donovan said “We have huge respect for Stan Ocitti and for the part he played for the Wolves as a player and as a person.”

“He is someone who really understands our club and program and after speaking extensively to him about Robert and what he will bring in terms passion, commitment and execution, it was an easy decision to make.”

“We think that Robert will bring a new dimension to the BBL and we look forward to welcoming him as an athlete.”

Robert Crawford will join the rest of the Wolves line up in September in preparation for their first game of the season at the University of Worcester Arena on 21st September. Tickets are available to purchase online now at www.worcesterwolves.org.
