Trophy dates announced mean a fixture pile up for Worcester Wolves

The Worcester Wolves can now confirm the dates for their two leg semi- final of the BBL National Trophy competition against the Sheffield Sharks.

The Wolves will play the home game on Wednesday the 7^th February at the university of Worcester Arena and the away leg on Sunday 11^th February at the English Institute of Sport.

The Sharks overcame the Newcastle Eagles to set up their second semi –final this season against the Worcester team and the away leg in Sheffield will replace the scheduled league game between the two sides;  this game will now have to be re-arranged to later in the season.

The addition of the two Trophy games will mean a congested fixture list for both teams and the Wolves will now have to play five games during a ten day period in the first part of February that includes games against high flying rivals, Leicester Riders and the London Lions.  Once again the Wolves will be thanking their loyal fans with a discounted rate for adults of £7, with  £5 concessions for the Sheffield home leg on the Wednesday night.

Managing Director Mick Donovan “Clearly, the successful cup runs that we have experienced, have brought additional pressure,  we have a very good sports science support at the University of Worcester and I am sure the coaching team will draw upon this when planning for this exciting sequence of games. The fans are also having to pay to attend more games and we hope this discount for the Trophy game helps in some way ”

Head Coach Paul James “We will look very closely at our training and playing schedules will during this period and will be hoping that we will benefit from having a deep and fit group of players. It is a really exciting challenge for both teams and we will certainly be up for it”
