Worcester Wolves Basketball Club is pleased to announce the re-signing of Ashton Khan for his third season with the team.
Khan first joined the Wolves for the 2015–16 campaign and last season produced some outstanding and consistent performances, averaging eight points and three assists per game for the University of Worcester-owned side
The 6ft 1in guard, who fits in training alongside studying for a Masters Degree in Sports Coaching at the University, says he hopes to help the team – which went on a 12-game winning streak in the second half of the season – finish what it started last time around.
Wolves Head Coach, Paul James, said he was delighted that Khan had decided to stay on with the club for the upcoming British Basketball League season and that even more was expected from him this time around.
“Ashton is an important part of what we are building here at Worcester,” he said.
“I have watched Ashton mature as a player and a person since being with us and he has had some very special performances to go with that.
“He is a very exciting guard and will be even better this season than he was last. I expect even bigger things to come from him.”
Khan said: “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to sign back to the Worcester Wolves.
“Through my time with the Club I’ve developed an ongoing relationship with the fans and culture of the city.
“I’m looking forward to working with Coach PJ and his coaching staff, who, along with the management, have shown a great deal of loyalty.
“I am going to come in as a leader and help this team finish what we started last season. Worcester is like my second home and I’m looking forward to seeing the Wolf Pack in September!”
Wolves Managing Director, Mick Donovan, said: “We are thrilled to see Ashton returning for his third year with the Club and the University. The exciting thing is that there is so much more to come from him as an athlete and a student.”
