Worcester Wolves get their ‘big man’

We are pleased to announce that we have made another addition to the pack.

Maurice Walker is the latest player to be added to the squad for the season.

The 6’10” Canadian-British player arrives from Latvian team Valmiera where he averaged 6.8ppg, 5rpg in 15 minutes of playing time.Maurice, a power forward/centre, has also played in Cyprus for Keravonas and in Italy-Serie A for VL Pesaro. The 24-year-old attended the University of Minnesota where in his final year 2014-15 he averaged 11.8ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.5spg and 1.3bpg.

Maurice said: “I’m excited. It’s going to be a good opportunity for me and I’m here to help the team in any way I can.”

Wolves Head Coach, Paul James, said: “The club has been working long and hard in search of a centre player such as Walker. We have had an indifferent start to the season and with the addition of Maurice we are looking to turn things around quickly.

“Maurice will give us that inside presence at both ends of the floor that we have been lacking so far this season. I’m sure he is going to have a great impact on the team.”

Wolves Managing Director Mick Donovan said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming Maurice to the Wolves and hope he becomes a huge favourite with our fans.”
