Three New Wolves to Join the Pack
The Worcester Wolves have brought exciting news to their fans with the signings of three huge impact players.
In the triple announcement, it has been revealed that Marek Klassen will join the Wolves for the new campaign. He was one of the outstanding point guards in the BBL last season who averaged 17.7 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game and an impressive 8.1 assists per game after joining Leeds Force at the mid- point of the campaign.
Deondre McWhorter will arrive from Georgetown College where he had a fantastic playing career, picking up many accolades along the way whilst finishing this past season and was voted the NAIA player of the year. The 6’ 9” McWhorter finished the season with impressive stats of 18.4 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game.
The third signings is no stranger to the BBL and many will feel that he has unfinished business in the UK. Trevor Setty, 6’ 8” and former Pikeville University graduate , who plays guard/forward, arrives at Worcester having previously played in the BBL with Surrey scorchers and Plymouth University Raiders. More recently Setty has been playing in Australia for the Mandurah Magic in the SBL where he averaged 23.8 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
A delighted Head Coach, Paul James confirmed “ we have been working very hard to bring three very exciting players to the Wolves. Whilst they will form the spine of the team in three important positions, they will all be able to contribute in different ways. We hope to have more exciting signings to announce in the coming weeks”
Managing Director Mick Donovan “ Every team in the BBL will be planning to improve during the coming season. That is certainly the case at the Worcester Wolves and our goal is to win silverware. We clearly believe that the first 3 signings have the character and ability to help us to achieve that”.
The club will be releasing more information about their new signings, together with their individual expectations for the Wolves in the coming weeks.
