Worcester Wolves will face the challenge of two tough road trips on consecutive nights this weekend. First up will be a journey down to Devon to face the Plymouth University Raiders on Saturday (tip off 7.30pm).

One of the few times the Wolves have slipped up this season came at the hands of the Raiders who inflicted the Wolves’ only home defeat to date with a 74-71 victory at the University of Worcester Arena, thanks to some deadly long-range shooting at the end of the game.

Raiders’ head coach Jay Marriott thinks the Wolves will be out for a little revenge when they visit Plymouth Pavilions on Saturday.

“There is no doubt they will be looking to put right the previous result with us, it will be a motivating factor for them,” said Marriott.

“Worcester at this current time will be a very formidable test and there is no doubt we will have to be at our best to compete. Everything is clicking for them so I’m sure they will be very confident.”

Wolves’ head coach Paul James says he’s not out for revenge, he believes the Wolves only had themselves to blame for the defeat against Plymouth.

“I don’t think it’s revenge, that’s not my style,” he said.

“The game we lost against them at our place, we had a chance to put them away and we failed to do that. They made some shots down the stretch, some really big shots and we couldn’t come back from that, so to me it was all our own doing.”

James added, “Since then we’ve kind of bounced back and playing really well, and we’ll do our homework on them. It’s always tough playing away no matter where you go, especially in Plymouth with a big crowd behind them. We’ll look to play our defence and move the ball like we have been doing all season and hopefully that’ll be good enough.”
