Last Time we met

It was just 6 days ago, when we last met Sheffield Sharks. Unfortunately, this meeting put an end to our 12 game win streak, prevented us from reaching 3rd place in the league and left us in 5th place after taking the head-to-head 3-0. As they took the head to head, they finished above us in 4th position meaning that we now face them in the quarter finals.

Sharks won last year’s playoffs after shocking favourites Leicester Riders with an 84-77 win. Sharks always seem to step it up for the Playoffs, meaning that we will need to as well. If we are going to progress to the semi-final, we might need to pull off another game like our 99-68 victory back in January.

One to watch

As we saw last week, Tony Wroblicky is going to be the Wolves main problem after he hit a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds. He is second leader in rebounds averaging 8.7, behind Mo walker of course who is still the leader on 9.1 rebounds per game.

Sharks have proven to be an all-round tricky team for the Wolves with high scoring players like Rashawn Rembert and Malcolm Riley. However, playing the Sharks last weekend will mean that the team have had a week to think about their game plan and adjust accordingly at the right time as we going into the play-offs.

Player thoughts

Mo Walker’s verdict:

“They got the season sweep on us, but it is tough to beat a team four times. We are going to plan more for this game than we have in the past, especially now it’s the play-offs.”

“We will be well prepared and confident.”
