Worcester Wolves welcome Trey Zeigler to the Pack

Worcester Wolves Basketball Club is pleased to announce it has signed up a new player to fill a position in the side left by injury.

After realising that player Andrew Bachman’s calf injury is more severe than first thought, team bosses have acted quickly to fill that position with 6’6” US forward Ernest Zeigler.

Ernest, who likes to be called Trey, joins the Wolves for the remainder of the season having started the season with BBC Bascharage, in Luxembourg, where he averaged 20.4ppg, 6.5rpg, 4.1apg and 1.2stlpg.

Trey has also had a professional spell for JBC MMCITE Brno in the Czech Republic.

He will replace Andrew, who sustained his injury in training last week and will be out of action for at least six weeks.

Wolves Coach Paul James said: “It was important that we tried to fill the gap left by Andrew Bachman’s injury quickly and I’m pleased that the club has responded so quickly to get this deal done.”

Trey flew into the UK from Dallas today and it is possible he could make his debut at the upcoming match on Friday, February 17th, against London Lions.
However, this is dependent upon all the paperwork being completed in the next two days.

Trey’s college career started at Central Michigan where he spent two seasons, averaging over 15points, five rebounds and two assists per game each season, before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh where his father was an assistant coach.

He finished his university career at Texas Christian University in the Big 12 conference where he averaged 10 points, four rebounds and two assists per game.
Mr James added: “Trey‘s all-around game is perfectly suited to our style of play.

“He is a little different to what we have at present and will contribute in many different ways, giving us more scoring and defensive options.
“I’m sure he is going to make a good impact on the team.”

Wolves Managing Director Mick Donovan said: “We felt that it was really important to send a message out to the Wolves fans that this season is still very much alive and the signing of Trey will hopefully reinforce that and bring a lift to the team as we go into the ‘business end’ of the season.”
