15th January 2015 Wolves Looking to Maintain High-Standards

Paul James has called for his side to maintain their high standards as they head into this weekend’s British Basketball League (BBL) double-header.

Wolves are set to clock over 500 miles in 48-hours as they travel to the Bristol Flyers on Saturday night, before making the journey north to face the Durham Wildcats on Sunday, who both currently sit in the bottom half of the table.

James’s side go into the weekend full of confidence after last Friday’s stunning home win against the Newcastle Eagles that kept their title hopes alive, and are looking to extend their five-game unbeaten run.

“We’re quite a happy camp right now and everyone is playing exceptionally hard for each other and it was proved by how well we played against a very, very good Newcastle team”, said James.

“What we’ve tended to do this year is raise our levels to the opposition we’ve been playing and unfortunately, on some occasions, we’ve lowered our levels as well”, admitted James, whose team lost to the Bristol Flyers in the Second round of the BBL Cup.

“On Friday night, we set the bar very high to go and beat Newcastle. If we can maintain that frame of mind and go in with that kind of intensity and have some consistency in the level of performance, I don’t see why we can’t go on a run of wins.

“All I can do with the Wolves is to make sure we win the next game we have in front of us and come the end of the season, we’ll see where we are”, he added.

New signing, Serbian centre Dejan Radojevic, is expected to feature for Wolves this weekend after signing from French side Pays d’Onne on Tuesday, subject to international clearance.
